Cement flooring is a broad term. Some homeowners want a polished existing concrete slab; others want a decorative overlay or a newly finished screed. The application method, floor thickness, substrate preparation and sealing requirements can be very different.
Before requesting a quote, note the size of the floor, whether it is concrete, screed or tiled, and whether you want a smooth matte or highly polished look. The contractor may need to inspect the substrate before quoting accurately.
Indoor living areas, wet rooms, patios and commercial spaces should not automatically use the same finish. Water exposure, slip resistance, traffic and maintenance must be considered.
Compare the full scope, not only a price per square metre
Preparation, crack treatment, substrate moisture, surface repairs, product system, decorative layers, sealing and curing all affect project cost and timeline.
